What is Colonialism?

-Colonialism is a practice or policy of control by one nation over the people living in different areas or countries, often by establishing colonies and generally with the aim of economic dominance. 

-Due to Colonialism, the colonizers were able to impose their cultural practices, economics and la8,and spread their religion. 

-colonialism in history involved the takeover of our nation by another nation and conquering of the people of other nations. 

-In modern history, colonialism began with the age of discovery led by the Portuguese. It was then followed by Spanish exploration and by people of other European countries like the Dutch,French,and British. 

Different between colonialism and colony.

-colonialism refers to a process by whicha foreign power annexes and cre dependencies whose economic, political and cultural systems are restructured and made to serve the foreign power's interest. 

-colony is a country that is ruled and controlled by another country.
