 HOW OUR COMMUNITIES DEVELOPED

Looking for evidence

Archaeology:is the study of human being who lived long time ago.

Archeological evidence:a source or things which reminded such as ruins, pottery, human skeleton, weapons and jewelleries.

ARCHAEOLOGICAL EVIDENCE WHICH TELL US ABOUT HOW PEOPLE LIVED.

Archeological materials can be grouped into four main categories as followed.

1.Artifacts

These are portable materials remains ,and these objects are made or modified by a person in a specific time and place.

E.g ceramic ,stone tools and carved bone or shell.

2.Ecofacts

Are naturally organic or inorganic remains found in an archaeological site, suggesting they were deposited as a result of human activity.

E.g seeds charcoal, minerals, and unmodified shell or bones .

3.Structure and features

In Archaeology, we normally use the term "structure "to refer to non-potable architectural elements, usually made of durable materials as soil, stone or wood. The form in which such structures are found range from land-levling bedrock levels to walls, floors houses  or even nonumental buildings.

4.Features

Other non-potable manifestation of past human activity that do not properly constitute a structure are called features. These include imprints of posts in the ground, deliberate alignments of stone  burners, and structures carved in the bedrock.

E.g of structure and features
